The MISC•aLAIR•é•Omm… is under construction....
Mutual aid Shed Build & Fall Potluck

Time & Location
Nov 14, 2025, 3:00 PM – 9:00 PM
MISC•aLAIR•é•Omm…, 15445 Biltmore St, Detroit, MI 48227, USA
Come help build a little roadside micro-shed at the front of the house to give away household items, food, and free stuff to the neighborhood. We’ll turn a simple drawing into reality, then throw a red-checker tablecloth on the table and roast s’mores while folktronic plays.
Vibe: Lesbians with tape measures, cider, power tools, and big kindness energy. This is a smorgasbord, un-hosted gathering of peers — zero pressure, come for all or part of it.
Agenda:
3pm onward: Shed build (hand tools, know how to use a saw)
~6pm: Campfire in the backyard, potluck dinner, roasted veggies & tofu, downtempo music, and real talk about how we can be kinder in a scary world
Wrap by 9pm
Bring (if you want):
A dish to pass for potluck
Camp chair
Donations for the Free Stuff Shed
Donations accepted to help cover materials for the shed.
This is inspired by the simple, strategic kindness in Everything Everywhere All at Once — building something useful for the community when the world feels heavy. Come build with us.
All are welcome. Especially queer, trans, neurospicy, and community-minded folks.
Context: Twice in my life I've had a little tote outside my house which I and others would put free things in for people to pick up and swap from. Each week I would collect things from my adventures and what others would give me — take a picture and post an update on Buy Nothing Groups or local swap groups. It became a bit of a game around town. Now I own a house, I'm going to upgrade from this tote to a small farmers stand–sized shed at the front of my house between the driveway and sidewalk. Should I be spending resources on this project while I need to get my own home renovations done? No… But am I building this because the world feels really scary right now and I don't really know what to do, so I'm going to do what the great parable of a movie Everything Everywhere All at Once says — Be Kind — https://youtu.be/YEg4gylAIk8?si=wB52PBHZrZIioNBV "When I choose to see the good side of things, I'm not being naive. It is strategic and necessary. It's how I've learned to survive through everything. I know you see yourself as a fighter. Well, I see myself as one too. This is how I fight… The only thing I do know is that we have to be kind. Please, be kind. Especially when we don't know what's going on."
