VERDICT
After living with this speaker on my desk here in Michigan for about 30 days into the summer, I have decided to return it and look for another option. It is genuinely aesthetic and the build quality is excellent, but the sound quality simply does not match the $225 price I paid, and at that cost it just does not align with how I personally use a speaker.
There are a couple of things I like about this speaker:
The build quality is rock solid. It is real wood, it’s heavy, and it feels like a real device.
I like that it is fully plugged in and powered. It seems to have more power to produce sound than a rechargeable model.
I love the extremely simple operation. There are just three buttons, and only one is really used other than for pairing at the top. There is no mess and no fuss.
However, there are some downsides:
It does not connect to the Apple AirPlay ecosystem in any way.
There is a limited number of devices that can connect via Bluetooth. It can get a little messy if you have multiple phones or computers connected, and it is not necessarily easy to manage.
At $225, it is a very expensive speaker. While the sound quality is good, it is not $225 good.
My final personal verdict after trying it for about 30 days is that the sound quality does not match the price I paid for it. I plan to return the device and find another speaker to use. It is not necessarily a bad option and it’s very aesthetic, but at this price point, it just doesn’t align with my personal usage.
